I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE BUT...

I might be having a midlife crisis.
Yeah...Maybe it's that.

The feeling of time running out...

but having absolutely no energy to do anything about it.

Or maybe I have S.A.D.

Symptoms

Symptoms usually build up slowly in the late autumn and winter months. Symptoms are usually the same as with other forms of depression:
  • Hopelessness
  • Increased appetite with weight gain (weight loss is more common with other forms of depression)
  • Increased sleep (too little sleep is more common with other forms of depression)
  • Less energy and ability to concentrate
  • Loss of interest in work or other activities
  • Sluggish movements
  • Social withdrawal
  • Unhappiness and irritability
Yep, maybe it's Seasonal Affective Disorder!
and I just need some SUNLIGHT to fix everything?

So....How you doin'?

  1. I totally have S.A.D. I call it my winter funk. It usually sets in in February. When the time changes and temps warm, I feel feel the gray cloud lift and all is good again.

Hopefully just a few weeks left!

  2. TODAY we actually had a beautiful day of sunshine but the weather is already beginning to go down hill...the rest of the week is supposed to be rainy...icy ...sleet ...and gray clouds! I went out to study my green sprouts showing up in my tiny garden. I understand! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

  3. Does turning on lots of lights help? Decorate with fairy lights?

I get the stressy hyperventilate "OMG my life" moments too. Set a few small goals, get in a few walks and you will feel better. Don't think BIG PICTURE or a bit. Just a few little things you like and want to get done.

    Helps me anyway.

You know where I am if you want to chat!
    xx

  4. Hmmmm, about the same, except for the weight gain part. Definitely the stay in bed and anti-social part. Working 6pm - 1am painting in an office bldg. doesn't help. Mourning the rehoming of a foster dog REALLY doesn't help. It will lift soon -- I can see the days are getting longer.

  5. I think I get it, too. I was just reading to up your vitamin D, so I'm going to try that. And I'm sitting in the sun whenever possible - although I have to shove two dogs and two cats out of the way to do it! As for life crisis, I am the QUEEN! Need any pointers, just let me know! haha. xox

  6. Vitamin D actually does help me and I can tell when I haven't been taking it like I should. But winter is just a sucky time of year. I think if I could actually hibernate through it that would be most beneficial. Hang in there Cyndi!
