Yesterday and Today

Yesterday was such a lazy day.
We just had no motivation.
I still had my commissioned pumpkins to do but I just couldn't get started.
We just sort of wasted the day away.
I felt guilty....
But not enough to get started I guess!

I had been given these plastic pumpkins back in February and told that she didn't need them until September.
So being the Queen of Procrastination, I've of course put if off until the last minute.

This morning I sat down at the table.
Blue came over and laid under it and my chair.
Moral support?

I spent the entire day working on them.
If I had been able to paint "whatever", I could have just whipped them out
but of course I agonized over them.
I have one more promise of a commission, one that I made a very long time ago.
So I need to get that finished and then
Wahoo! I'm free to do what I want.
So here's the photos I had to work from and here's the pumpkins.

I'm glad to done with them.
They have been nagging at me forever.
I really don't know why I'm like that.
I MUST stop putting things off.
Anyway, I hope she likes them.

I'm sure she will love them! And I'm glad they're done and no longer nagging at you.

Oh, so cute pumpkins! I had to click on your post from 2012 and go see the pumpkins you did then. Such talent. Wondering if you're up to doing a small painting? Don't kill me...I know you said you're glad you're free, but I would be patient.

Jean,
Thank you!
and yes, I'm glad they are done.
I've had people here at work say I should make some to sell at the clinic.
So I guess I will and also some for my booth.
Now I need to find some reasonable priced ones.
Or maybe paper mache ones!
Yep, now I have something new to nag me.
:D

I have one of those days now, no energy to do anything but I would never feel guilty about it :-) :-)

If I don't start doing what ever it is I am supposed to directly I too will put it off until it is almost too late, I wish I didn't do that :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

Christer,
I'm like that too.
I have to start my project right away because if I wait until afternoon, I'll never do it.
I'm definitely a morning person.
Sadly, today I have to go in and work at the clinic for the evening shift.
That will throw me off completely!
Grrr.
Oh well, there's always tomorrow!

I'm a huge procrastinator. But then, some of my best work comes when I have a tiny window to create something in - even though I get little to no sleep.
I guess I work best under pressure :)
Love the pumpkins - great job.

Enjoy the odd lazy day with your fur crew - it's OK to do that, so don't beat yourself up over it. Especially at the end of a long hot summer - something which I'm dreading as our summer approaches. I don't do well in the heat. No energy.
Blue is the best!

Vicki,
Yes, procrastination and indecisiveness are two of my many traits that annoy me to no idea!
I wish I could make a decision and act on it immediately and with confidence and yet.... sigh, I never do.
I think I work better that way although it makes me very stressed.
I still remember, while back in school, I had a project that I had almost a month to do and of course started it the weekend before the Monday it was due.
The night before, I stayed up into the wee hours and my Dad was screaming at me about it. Saying that I needed to go to bed and how I shouldn't have waited. He just wouldn't let up. Ranting about how I could have gotten a better grade on it if I had started right away and took my time.
It was for a calligraphy project assigned in Art class. A hand lettered illustrated book that I was supposed to create.
I finished in time to just shower and go to school.
My Dad, afterwards, kept wanting to know what grade I got on it and when the teacher returned it to me with an A+ I had secret joy in telling him.
Ha! Funny that I still remember that!
and yes, guess I work better that way! LOL!
Thanks for commenting!
