WEDNESDAY WORD on Thursday and a YouTube Video

Last week, on Wednesday, I had my work anniversary. I've worked there for 12 years.
My sick hours and vacation days for the year start over again.
I get 24 sick hours.
and 2 weeks vacation that can be broken down into days or hours even.
On Friday. I took one of those days.
Just to decompress.
It actually helped and I got some cleaning done but...
once again, I was awaken before 5 in the morning.
It's been happening EVERY single day, some time between 4:30 and 5:00 AM
one of the little dogs hears something and starts barking
and then 2 others join in.
They have that really HIGH PIERCING bark
and their room is just feet away from my neighbors bedroom window
and directly below my bedroom.
Once those three start barking, then the whole herd goes crazy.
and I think I'm about to lose my mind in that moment.
That moment: dormiveglia.

and this is why I bought:

NO BARK Collar Citronella Spray Anti-Bark collar for Dogs Kit - Safe, Effective, and Humane Dog Barking Control collar - here

  • Eliminates or significantly reduces nuisance barking
  • Sprays harmless citronella burst whenever dog misbehaves
  • Works with all dogs at least 6 months old and 6 pounds and up
  • Training is instantaneous and painless
I plan on trying it this Saturday.
I've bought three and they are NOT returnable.
Wish us luck.

oh...
good luck!
hope the 'oil' of the citronella doesn't cause any nose problems.
their noses are different than ours i would think. at least they appear different!
i read once though that dogs just hate mint smell or citrus smells.
maybe that's it.

and... oh...
i think they all moved to the same suburbs that lily and ted moved to. they all live in the same area. and they bbq together.
barney has totally changed because of his baby daughter. the mother gave him complete custody and is out of their lives.
he has fallen head over heels for the first time in his life... a soccer mom that also has a little girl. only she's a widow. they now live all happily together.
and robin and ted just bought a house down the street. she only does cameo shots on special news programs. it's a university town.
so ted loves his job.
barney is renowned world wide for his lifestyle blog! only now it's about how to raise your daughter!
THE END.
oh. and marshal is now judge fudge. of the state supreme court!

Tammy!
Several people at work have tried these collars and said that they worked very quickly and none of their dogs have nose problems from it. So...
I'm crossing my fingers!

OMG! TAMMY!!!!!!!
At first I thought you had lost your marbles and sent me some email that you meant for someone else and then I realized.....
but, ok.
If THAT is what ultimately happened then I would be fine.
Thanks. xoxoxo
you crazy woman.

Dormiveglia. The threshold between the conscious and unconscious.
It's a beautiful word in itself. Italian and French. Such lovely languages.

I like thresholds. Always have. And is why I prefer the wonderfully magical word, "liminal".

Let us know how you (and the pups) get on with the collars :)

Vicki,
Liminal...I like that.

Welcome to my life, that's when I wake up every morning. Thankfully not by barking dogs though :-)

I'm lucky now because none of the dogs barks especially much, at least not when I am at home. Sune can warn a little when we're in the garden and a neighbor passes but that's it.

I've heard that dogs stop barking if one teaches them to bark on command, they are quiet until they arev told to bark again. I've never tried this but if I ever get a dog that loves to bark I will. The problem is how do one get a dog to bark when one wants it to? :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

Christer,
Well, It's Saturday morning and it got so late last night that I didn't yet read the instructions and put the collars on. I really regret it because they started barking at 4:30 this AM.
They have that high pitch "piercing" bark that little dogs have and it's so loud! It really makes me wonder if maybe they hear something every day that is outside that wakes them up?
I'm not good at teaching commands to the little dogs. The big ones listen but the little ones just ignore me!

great word.

and i feel really, really lucky that maisie doesn't bark, and lily didn't. well, both of them, so rarely that i always jump (ed) when they do (did). [tenses sure are complicated, sigh.]

and tammy cracks me up. haven't seen final season yet.

Leslie,
I wish they weren't barkers but most of them are.
:(
And Blue is better good but when he does bark it's thundering and then EVERYONE barks.
Yep, It's frustrating....
almost as bad as the finale of HIMYM!
LOL!
