Feeling Apprehensive.

So, kind of a strange thing happened this morning.
Well two things actually.
First, we slept in! yep, until 6:42!
but the really strange thing was as everyone jumped up and ran downstairs
both Ping and Nora refused to go.
Ping, my little assertive watchdog of a toy poodle
and Nora, my Border Collie.
Actually Nora crawled under the bed!
That made me sort of afraid to go downstairs myself
but I knew the gang was waiting at the backdoor to go out.
So I let them all out and went back upstairs.
I had to pull out the bed and coax Nora out
and carry Ping!
Everyone is now acting normal but...
I'm still looking around, wondering.
The weather is nice with a light wind, although they've forecast storms
and now I'm wondering if they'v sensed that something is coming.
Yep, feeling apprehensive.

They sensed something anyway and I wouldn't be surprised if it is a thunderstorm on the way. Hector can behave strange when one of them is coming close.

Have a great day!
Christer.

Christer,
The weather is still fine here.
I mean it's a bit windy but I love THAT. Maybe it's about to change?
I'm not sure what made they act so strange, but it definitely made me feel a bit spooked.

Ghosts?

that is very strange. Something must be up. Unless Nora didn't feel good this morning.

I would feel spooked too --- dogs are a lot more sensitive than people. Please let us know how it turns out.

Steve,
STOP IT!
(and I did think of that, now that it never stormed at all today.)

Nita,
Once they both were downstairs, they were fine.
Yep, very strange.
Now that it's evening and I'm thinking about it again, it's weirding me out all over again.

Jean,
It never rained! It had been forecast all week that today it would storm and then...nothing.
Even the wind died down. I'm hoping that tonight and tomorrow morning will go by quiet and uneventful.
(But I might be sleeping with one eye open though! LOL!)

As you know, animals are very perceptive, and can pick up imperceptible (to us) moods, events or atmospheric changes.
Without projecting any apprehensive thoughts or body language, gauge their reactions over the next couple of days/nights.

Is one of your furkids ill, or feeling unwell - more so than usual?
Dogs can pick up on things like that, and it makes them feel uneasy.

I wouldn't worry too much about ghosts. It could be, but often, they're just passing by. They're only a problem if they're invited in some way - to you or into your house.

Keep a "light" attitude, and see how the pups go. Keep us posted :)

Vicki,
I was just kidding about "ghosts".
Although I know many people don't believe in them, I've had several incidents that makes me sure they are indeed around.
But not at my house. Really.
I feel absolutely nothing here and yet I felt them all the time at my parents home...and I have several other stories about other places.
Hmm. Sounds like a blog post to me! LOL!
and... my Ruby had a very bad night last night. I was washing her face and she had one of her "fits". The worst one yet. Her eyes were bugged out, she was drooling, her tongue and gums turned grey and her feet curled in so bad that she couldn't walk and fell over.
I really thought I was losing her. After a while I placed her in her bed for the night and went to let the other dogs out to potty and came back and found her walking around. This morning she seems normal! Well, normal for her.
So..maybe that was it?
Although, once again Nora didn't want to come downstairs.
:(

You certainly have captured our interest! Hope it turns out to be nothing except another one of those unexplainable mysteries of the universe. :)

I hope things are still going well!

Jean,
Thanks for checking in on me!
Apparently last night I got a text that there was a tornado warning and "To take shelter now" at 3:47.
But my phone was downstairs and I never heard it.
But luckily the storm passed us and all is well.
and Ruby(my little dog)is doing better today.
Thanks again for checking in!

I came by the other day and got interrupted making a comment.
i'm just now back and see that it might have been the storm.
they definitely have a sense of that.
i remember reading how no wild animals were caught in that giant sunami... i spelled that wrong!
it said they all left for higher ground early on.
amazing little people they are.
the fur people we live with and love.
nose kisses for beloved ruby.

Tammy,
Yes maybe that was it.
I read that about the tsunami too.
It's amazing how they can sense things people are unable to.
That's why if my dogs don't like someone, neither do I!
LOL!
I will give Ruby an extra kiss for you. She is being very feisty tonight. She did a little jump and snarl at one of the other little ones who dared get too close to her food bowl!
I'm shaking my head over her. One day it looks to be her last and the next she's bossing around her housemates.
Thanks for commenting!
xoxo

Glad you all are safe. Hope it was just a quirky morning for no special reason.

Jan,
Yeah, that's what I'm telling myself.
;)
although it made me kinda feel uneasy.
I'd prefer they not do that!
LOL!
