MY LABOR DAY so far....

This is the view from my backdoor yesterday morning-

And today is Labor Day!
Such a beautiful day! Great weather. I'm actually off work today!
I'm working on digging holes and sinking fence posts into the ground for the fence I'm crafting.
My "Folk Art" fence.
It's so peaceful.
Dogs snoozing on the chaise lounges on the patio.
The soft whiz of cars going done the street.
Birds chirping.
The neighborhood kids playing on their trampoline and the sounds of them jumping and chattering with one another.
Calling out to each other.
Neighborhood sounds.
Kids being kids and
suddenly I remember something my Dad yelled out to us kids so many years ago and
NOW I understand what he meant.
"Stop that! You sound like lunatics!"
Ahhhh, memories.

I don´t think I told you before, but your header is great, you are a real good artist. It must be such fun to sit and just be busy with drawing. I suppose it is you with your cat and dogs but one question: do you have the measles with all those red dots on your face? Haha, I'm joking, really love it.
It must have been great to have a day off on Labour day, with beautiful weather and working on your fence posts with the lazy ones on the sofas.
Wish you a lovely continue of the week!

Janneke,
Thank you.. I think! LOL!
No, not measles, that's my freckles.
I'm thinking of updating it because my hair hasn't been red for a very long time now!
:)
It was really great to have a day off AND the nice weather.
(I got sunburned and now I have MORE freckles! LOL!)
and thank you for the Art compliment, really!
XOXOXO

what lush greenery at the end of your garden!
like living near a forest.
i can't wait to see your fence. it sounds wonderful and colorful.
i could just picture your furry family all lounging around on the patio watching you work. LOL.
how many years until you can retire?
you will literally love it.
i do. ♥
and i was so hoping you could be OFF WORK on labor day at least!

Tammy,
LOL! A forest of weeds!
But my plan is to let the hill and the bottom just "be"
and to fence in the whole top area.
And the fence is Folk Art style so that it blends with the rest of my house.

I won't be able to retire for a while.
Officially it's 7 years but I'm hoping,
no, I'm envisioning it sooner!

and I was off work (sort of) LOL!

From one lunatic to another, your dad sounds like a hoot!

I can't believe you're building your own fence. Goodness woman, do you ever sit still??!

Doreen,
Yeah, sometimes he was funny
but mostly he meant it! LOL!

This is the 4th fence I've built!
I built a small one, picket by picket, that framed my front yard.
(I have since dug it up)
and I had a big privacy fence that I put up but also tore most of it down when I wanted the big Weeping Willow to be cut down.
Then I built a more involved fence, where I cut each picket flat to make it fit in a frame so that the top was flat and created a ledge and that's around my patio and is the dog area. That I'm keeping in place but I'm now building a bigger private fence (the front part I finished a while back so that I had privacy from the street in regards to my pool.)
So now I'm boxing in the top part of the yard and then I'm going to build a shed/greenhouse/shack of sorts for "Stuff"! LOL!
So no, I don't sit still much except for floating and it appears that today is the last day for that. :(
Oh well!
Thanks for commenting!
