2017 so far.....

Just a quick check in.
This weekend I hope to catch up on my blog reading.
Sorry if I've been absent but I will stop by ASAP.

This first week of the New Year started out very busy
and now is slowing down at work.

I hate to even admit this but the week has not been so great.
I have had to deal with a couple of ISSUES at work that have made me upset.
Things I can't talk about because this is the Internet.
I had hoped that 2017 would have less DRAMA but alas...
Haters gonna hate.

Luckily for me, Doc had my back both times so that made it much easier to deal with.
I found this quote and it helps me to deal -

(source)

Then mid-week, someone in my extended family suddenly passed away.
It's very sad and shocking and...
also something I can't talk about.

I refuse to let this affect my expectations for 2017.
Hopefully this is it for the NEW Year
and all the bad/sad is out of the way.

I'm trying to finish up a "project" that I will reveal soon.
Here's a sneak peek of the WIP's -

Then I'll be doing the Valentines stuff.
Little painted fabric cats.
Some illustrations
and BANNERS! LOL!
(Because Sugar wants banners.)

Yep.

In other news,
Jimmy Chew, the hipster dog.
Trendsetter.
Has been sporting a new style.
A combination Mohawk/Goatee.

Jury is still out on this one.

Busted! But everyone will want banners when you get going on them each season. Sorry you're having a rough start. Skip ST Valentines Day banners and make it Easter ones. That will buy you some time right?

Sharon, I mean Sugar, LOL!
I think I will then, I mean skip Valentines and do Easter!
Bunnies and Chicks?
Easter Eggs and Spring colors!
OK, that's the plan.
Easter banners.

and Valentines cats.

I'm sorry it's been a rough week, but I laughed out loud at Jimmy. And I'm glad you're continuing to do creative work. In the long run that will help you feel better faster. ♥♥♥

this year is STILL going to be your best.
love the green walls of your studio.
when I was little once ... like 7 ...
my mother let me pick out some wallpaper. I chose that same green background with pink and grey pussy willows! and YES! she really let me have it. but it was the last time I got to do that. LOL! of course that was the only time I ever had my own room too. so maybe that was why. :)

Jimmy Foo Man Chew!
LOLOLOLOLOL!
I LOVE that!!!!

The story behind the green walls, I painted them several years ago when i was REALLY poor.
I went and gathered up 3 marked down different gallons of "mis-tints" at the hardware store and came up with this color.
I wanted something at the time that would look good with a print of a painting I have by one of my favorite artists - Annora Spence.
I always intended to repaint at some point but now I kinda like it.
(Your childhood room sounds lovely!)

Love the quote, and your creative space - And I think the Mohawk/Goatee has some fun style to it!

And I hope the work-drama works itself out!

Hang in there!!

Kim,
Thanks!
And Jimmy... yeah, I'm not loving it.
Lol!
and the drama, I'm going to try to just do my thing and ignore them.
Not always easy but luckily no one REALLY wants my job! LOL!
Thanks for commenting.

Cindy, re Easter. Love the woodlands look of rustic browns and earthy greens, not sweet bunnies and chicks. Will try to get you some pics. You know I'm not sweet despite the nickname Sugar. xo, Sharon
