HOT, VINTAGE FINDS

I found some GREAT Vintage finds and Jimmy is HOT!
A couple of weekends ago I stopped in at the antique/collectibles mall that I used to have a booth at, just to see what I could find and
I discovered this Fabulous Mid-Century cabinet!
The best part is I don't have to do a thing to it!
(that cord to the left is to my tv antenna, YES! I have an antenna.
It's so annoying that I'm almost tempted to get cable, just to get rid of it AND to get better reception...
Or maybe I should just get rid of the TV!)
Anyway, back to my Mod Cabinet.
I love the white top and the silver vintage pulls on it.
It was only $35.00!
Then last week I decided to hit Goodwill and Salvation Army.
I have a large foot stool and I've even bought fabric to cover it with,
but I had kept putting it off.
I knew that it wasn't REALLY what I wanted.
I wanted a coffee table.
Then I discovered this!
I'm not sure if it WAS a coffee table but it will be now.
I think I will paint it WHITE.
I like the look of the metal pattern so I don't want to cover it with painted board or a mirror that would hide it.
So I might get a piece of glass to fit inside.
and it only cost $6.38!

And finally, It's been SO HOT!
I've put all the air-conditioners in and the ceiling fans are always on.
It took a while to cool it down.
Jimmy Chew had a hard time getting comfortable for his nap.

Finally he gave up and laid on the floor directly under the ceiling fan.
I had given him a quick trim a while back, kind of a butch job and it's starting to grow back.
I need to do it again.
Hopefully he will look better the new time.

Wow! That mod chest is really great! I would have bought it too and to think you don't have to do anything to it. Loved seeing Blue in the background when you showed off the coffee table. What a great price too. Is the table brass? Brass is really in style now...maybe you shouldn't paint it. I really like it the way it is...just put some interesting things on top...like a bright low vase of flowers and some books.

Finally, Jimmy made me laugh...laying there on his back cooling of his under parts. What a cute boy!

That is a great dresser. Affordable and you don't have to do anything to it? the starts must have been aligned for you (or the grass was very green that day!)

Love Jimmy getting comfy. He's a cutie.

The coffee table is cool but that chest is a WOW! It's perfect just the way it is. I can't believe someone would give that away for $35. I don't think they knew what they had.

I always feel bad for the animals when it's so hot. We're expecting 97 today, 99 tomorrow after 60s and 70s for the past few weeks. So I'm putting the AC units in this morning. I always feel like a hostage when it gets this hot, being limited to the few cooled rooms.

I do like that table! I would need something like that with a "fence" around it since I always tend to drop things over the edge :-) :-) :-)

We reached 71 today and that's a normal summer temp here, so we rarely need and air condition. Just as well since the electricity is so expensive :-)

I might drive to a farm not far away to look at a puppy tomorrow :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

I love that chest! And the table! And Jimmie is adorable! My cats have been so hot they are laying on the a/c vent, thereby hogging it so the rest of us sweat. :)) Nice scores on the thrift front! xox
