GHOST PAINTING

I've been blogging since June 2009.
My second post was about my cat Ghost.
It told the story of how he was a scared timid little thing who followed my cat Harry around and was scared of his own shadow. If you would like to read the whole story about how he became lost and then found 1 month and 3 days later in another town, just go to this link: http://oldblackcatboo.blogspot.com/2009/06/this-is-my-cat-ghost.html
I searched for him relentlessly and worried and imagined awful things.
On nights when it stormed, I could not sleep. He was always terrified of the rain, thunder and lightning. He would hide under the furniture and refuse to come out.
And then he was found. He had become a Warrior.
He is no longer scared when it storms. He leaps from surface to surface with confidence.
He dismisses the dogs with confidence. He's a changed cat.
He is still very loving and likes to follow me around and gently touch my face with his paw.
But try to trim his nails now and he will fight you to the death.
So this painting, done in acrylics, watercolor, ink, crayon and paper is about my Ghost.

I love how there's a back story to your paintings.

Are you sure it's the same cat and not just another white cat you found?

Nita, I knew it was him but there was no doubt about it because I had him micro-chipped.
I did end up bringing home an additional white cat that was NOT him during the time he was gone because the people were threatening to take him to the pound. (His name is Horton and he's living at the clinic now.)

I know all about lost cats. My cat Panther got out and was missing for a month. We looked for him everywhere. I swear I would hear him meowing in the night but could never find him! Then one night as I sat on the porch unable to sleep, there he was! I couldn't believe he survived outside after being a house cat.

I think it's wonderful that you got Ghost back and I love the painting.

Ghost the painting is so sweet, and Ghost the cat is handsome. I love that he is brave now after his harrowing adventure. I could learn from that, I think. :) xox
