So happy old man winter has finally come a callin' in your wonderful corner of the world, Cindi! Here, Australia is on fire, so, thoughts of winter and snow are welcome.
Such an adorable illustration. I'll be nudging you from time to time, you know Cindi. That book won't write/illustrate itself :) I'll post a quote soon on my blog, which as an artist, I find heartening in the face of (my own) fears and doubt.
Vicki, Thank you! I would gladly send this snow to you! and thank you for the nudge and the nudges in the future. You obviously know that I need them. Why, I'm not sure, but thank you for being a friend. xoxo
... without any "real" purpose in mind, start creating illustrations of Blue and crew. Whatever tickles your fancy, like something they've done (cheeky, touching, naughty or otherwise) that made you laugh, cry or wonder. Begin to make pages of (unseemingly) unconnected art/illustrations. Simply, images of whatever they get up to. This will give yourself "permission" to just have fun, without the pressure of having to create a book with some sort of order/semblance/story - which at the beginning, can seem daunting.
Give yourself freedom to have fun... and make glorious mistakes (read my blog post, it'll make sense) :)
Then, one day, in a month or so, spread them all out on a big table. You might be surprised how the pictures will create the narrative, all by themselves.
Vicki, LOL! Thank you! xoxoxo I've kinda been doing that, in a way. I mean I have another blog - http://bigwhitedogblue.blogspot.com/ that I used to post pet tips on and stuff about Blue but then I started talking about him here so... I cleared off all the posts and my plan was to someday copy and organize all my Blue posts there and then make a book from it. And of course, add some more stories and drawings... but as you can see, I have yet to do it. :/ Thank you for nudging me.
