COOKNG FOR LOVE

I don't cook.
Not really. You can't call microwaving potatoes or dropping waffles in a toaster, cooking.
Once in a while I'll boil some noodles and add some canned sauce. Mostly it's frozen pizza's in the oven.
I might buy chicken breasts and put them on the George Foreman but I don't usually get the frozen ones because I always forget the thawing out process and then if I thaw it by the microwave, well... the stuff on the plate makes me kinda gag and it doesn't seem to be that appetizing any longer.
Yep, I eat a lot of cereal.
I just don't enjoy the shopping (expensive)
and
(time-consuming)

the preparing (messy)

the clean up afterwards (ugh! I hate a sink full of dirty dishes.)

I used to cook MANY years ago. I would make quiches and omelets and barbecued spare ribs and chicken enchilada's and cheesy meatloaf. These were my "specialities".
I was always getting RAVE REVIEWS but I did it for LOVE. I did a lot of things for love back then. I went to baseball games while I hated baseball. I sat in smoky sports bars and pretended that I understood football. I actually even spent a WHOLE afternoon watching GOLF on TV once!

I also wore high heels rather than tennis shoes and wore contact lenses and was never seen in my eyeglasses.

I spent far too much of my youth trying to be what some guy thought I should be.
So I vowed never to be or do what wasn't true to myself again.
But now I find myself coming back to cooking again.
For LOVE.

Yes, the things one does for LOVE.
I have gone and bought meat and vegetables. Some apples and lowfat cottage cheese.
I've climbed up on my step stool and gotten down the pots. I've washed the dust off of them and I starting to cook. I want my Love or should I say my LOVES to be healthy.

Or....wait. Is it all supposed to be RAW!?
Hmmm, Maybe I DON"T have to Cook!

I don't care about cooking for myself either. But love cooking for the dogs. They get so excited by it too. Although this weekend I did bake those muffins that were on Cindy's Romantic Home last week - the pumpkin ones. I haven't baked anything in years but these were so good and the dogs loved them. Just a can of pumpkin and a spice cake mix and baked for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. They were perfection. I'm going to try them next with a chocolate cake mix.

Yup! Raw is better (transition them to raw meat) blend up some veggies (breaks down the fiber for easier digestion) add some raw egg, some Brewer's yeast, a little oil (Salmon, Olive, etc.)

and yes, raw is also easier.

You don't have to do all raw by any means...you are trying to feed a large pack here. One meal raw, one meal kibble (soak the kibble beforehand) or what you can do when you can do.....you'll have some happy campers.

We do look upon cooking in different ways You and I :-) :-) :-) I have a microwave but I only use it to warm up something I´ve taken out from the freezer :-)(sometimes I do heat up my tea too :-) :-) ).

But I´ve never done anything just because someone else thought I should :-)

I do boil some liver or kidneys for my dogs, grind it down and mix it with their food and they love it :-) Boiling kidneys makes the whole cottage smell like pee, but what doesn´t one do for ones pets :-) :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

I like cooking, but it seems like something else is always taking center stage, and I end up slapping together a salad and throwing meat on the BBQ. Not terribly exciting, but it's food! And my dogs love the leftover meat. Hey, can you feed dogs wheat bread? Sophie is nuts for it, but I don't know if it's good for her. I suppose I could LOOK IT UP! LOL!

I hate cooking also. I bet you are a good cook though!
I often offer cereal to my family but they aren't too thrilled with that! Dam!

You're too funny!! And when I only had myself to worry about, I didn't take time to prepare proper meals either. .and sadly, my health paid the price.
As for that chicken recipe that I just posted, don't let the fancy name intimidate you. It is simply chicken stew, and if you take it step by step, is SO easy! Make it your signature dish. .take it to work to provide lunch for your co-workers and they will be SO impressed! Only you will know just how simple it is to make. I KNOW you can do it!

I too hate cooking - I moan about it every day! it's such a waste of time.
I love the photo of your furbabies sleeping together... is it for real or have you photoshoped them together?!!!
Have you thought any more about selling prints of your photography?

I agree with you on everything that is written in your text!! . it seemed that he spoke to me.
as I commented in my blog ( as I mentioned in my blog ) .. my love live 9.500 km from me , the other side of the atlantic ocean.
I love he , but we live apart and not even sure I'll be back to being together again.
Cause I'm sick of doing things that I did not like to please him .. and that generated much discussion about it.
I thought that if he loved me that was why I had not loved my true self.
Today I feel separate yet we are united in some way, why my heart still beats strong for him .. but if it happens again I'll know it's time to start a new story .. and it can also be very good
Do everything with my dear !!!.. love their little four-legged friends know the great love you have for them.
xoxo
