My Co-Pilot and I Facing the Worst Snowstorm since 1979!

They have been forecasting the worst snowstorm since the Blizzard of 1979 for the last few days.
And it has arrived. I had to work of course and it's surprising how many people still came into the clinic for routine things. I don't get it. If I didn't have to go out in this mess I wouldn't! It started snowing early but got worst as the day progressed and it's SO windy. Most of my co-workers live way out in the country, some in Iowa and some in Illinois. The clinic is in Iowa and I live in town but across the river in Illinois. I can either take the Interstate to get home or go through town, which is what I did. I'd rather slide into a car instead of having a semi running me over! So, we left early, about 4:00 and I put the 2 "terrors" in their kennel in the back and buckled up Blue, my co-pilot.  I drove slowly and carefully, it took quite a while to get home. Later, I saw the postlady trudging through the blowing snow.  She's usually here at 1:00 or so! I don't think she should have to be out in this, it's ridiculous. When I opened the storm door, I had to PUSH hard because the wind had blown a drift up against it. I guess I will have to keep going outside all night tonight and clear the snow off of the steps and in the middle of the night, go out and shovel the driveway several times.
Sigh...................
I know alot of you are experiencing the same weather, on the News they are saying that if you don't have to go out, be safe and stay home!  I will be doing just that! I hope you all are safe and warm tonight!

Ahhhh, I know it's a pain for you guys and even dangerous, but on the fantasy side of it, I've always wanted to be in a big snowstorm....all safe and snuggly inside with a well stocked bar of course.....:D
Be safe!!

I hate it that you have to be out in this mess. I and everyone I know are trying to not go anywhere. Ridiculous that people are going out when they don't have to. I feel extremely lucky at the moment that I don't have to be out in it. I feel terrible that you do...and for Blue, Ralphie and Jimmy too.

one more thing....I can't believe you took the time to take a photo of Blue in the car....he does not look happy...but then does he ever look happy?

I just can´t understand why people gets out in weather like that if it isn´t for an emergency! I wouldn´t even go to work to be honest.

Over here it´s rather warm (around 35F) and the sun has shined almost all day :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.
