LANDSCAPING PLANS

This is what I see in my mind when I drive up to my house.
This Spring I loved pulling up in the drive and seeing my daisies.
Now I'm SICK SICK SICK of it ALL.
It's SO HOT that all I do is water.
Too hot to sit outside and weed.
Besides, I have so many other things that I could do with my time and unfortunately most of my time is spent at my job.
It doesn't seem like I have enough SPARE time to get all the necessary things done, let alone the things I WANT to do.
I've talked before about my addiction to flowers...
which would be alright I suppose if I wanted a cottage garden.
Something like this is NICE -
but THIS just strangles me. -
In my fantasy, I'd want this-
but then my house would need to look more like that one, I would think.

So, yesterday I went to Lowes to look at landscaping timbers, pavers, that sort of thing.
I came home with a van full of clearance flowers.
I told myself that I could put them down on the back hill...
after I clear it.
I'm thinking it would be nice to have a garden shed down there, so I Googled those today.
Suddenly I realized that these "sheds" were closer to my homes "style" than most houses are.
Then I found this-
I have a gravel driveway...
I think this could work!
I might have hit on a happy medium between the two styles!
Of course that means more time outside....
but someday I will be done. Really, I will.

I have missed you dear friend...all hell broke loose about 10 days or so ago but we have survived. My Whispers in the trees has an opening and they survived 100mph winds last week...Sunday we will celebrate the Joys of survival. I understand what we all dream about a great garden and studio space...for now I will be happy in my woods at the doorstep. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Yes, I think that's a great compromise. I can't believe you came home with more flowers! That is too funny. I still love the idea that you have daisies every where.

If You want less weeds just plant perennials a bit to close to each other. I have very little weeds in my flower beds just because of that. But then again I do have to pull them up and divide them every third year. Much easier and nicer though :-)

Sometimes I get the feeling You do too much at the same time and that makes You frustrated, am I right?

Just concentrate on one thing at a time, life will become so much easier but You don't have to take all the time I do, the pond isn't finished yet and over five years has passed since I started :-) :-) :-)

Have a great day my friend!
Christer.

I think those last photos look great and something you could do. Sounds like a plan! Hope you are doing well. How's Mellie?

Love the garden house/shed. I like a sea of gravel as a landscaping element. Soothing, maybe a little zen-like. Easier to weed, no doubt. My idea of a garden is some leafy vegetation...that's all my lifestyle can handle.
I hope the doggie is working out. No weeding there!

PS - I think I got rid of the comment validation quiz on my blog. Finally.
