WHAT I DID LAST WEEKEND

Last weekend I did some cleaning and organizing but mostly I worked on creating some horses!
A co-worker/ friend encouraged me to do some illustrations of horses.
I love horses but I have never illustrated one before.
So here's what I ended up with -
This was Inktense and paper.

So was this -

This was layered paper and Inktense-

And this one is paper and Inktense and totally my style.

Blue tried to stay awake as I was creating but his eyes kept closing and his head would drift back and then he'd jerk awake again.
It was quite the struggle for him.
I've been there myself and I know how hard it is to stay awake when all you want to do is catch a couple of winks.
During the day I'm usually at work, so that's his nap time.
I totally screwed up his schedule.
I have no idea why he felt the need to stay up though! LOL!

Jeez, I love him so much! :)

I have to say first, that your Blue is sooooo adorable! He's such a character :)
I love his, "gotta stay awake, gotta stay awaaaaaa" face. My heart melted.
Beautiful Blue boy.

Your horses are gorgeous! Have you had horses in your life? You've captured their expressions in illustration very well!
I especially like the first one - reminds me of my own Nina Ballerina.

You're doing great, Cindi! I'm feeling your creative autumn art energies from way over here.
And, you're building up a great portfolio. Love it all!
So good to see. Well done!

Vicki,
I must agree! Blue is a real character and he totally has my heart.
:)
Thank you about the horses.
Actually I was worried about it because when I draw dogs and cats I think about how they look and feel and things they do but I haven't been around a horse for 40 years! I do love them but I push them out of my mind.
Sigh, maybe someday.
I do feel like I'm rolling along and I know I have to keep going and creating all the time so that I can learn, get better and perfect my style.
Thank you for all your encouragement!!!!

Thank you Su!
Inktense is a pencil that looks like a watercolor pencil but it's actually ink!
When you add water it gets more vibrant and it dries permanent and you can add another color or more of the same over it and layer it. It doesn't get muddy like watercolors.
Or at least that's what I've been told about watercolors.
I LOVE Inktense! You should try them out.
I got them on Amazon for a great price, much better than at the Art and Craft stores.
Nice to see you are back!

Sharon,
Thanks for that comment.
Sometimes I wonder if people get a bit bored with my crew.
I'm crazy about them but I realize not everyone else is too.
Thanks for those kind words!

Of course I don't have them made into prints yet and mounted on canvases.
So hopefully she will Share them then.
Either way, it's good practice for me!
