I DROPPED THE BALL, AGAIN...

Yep.
And I had such big plans too.
I'm really mad at myself for not figuring out how to get it done....
The Christmas cards,
The prints,
The paintings,
The calendar.

Such big plans..........
sigh.

Well,
HERE'S TO 2016!
I think the secret is to start in July.
Not to wait.
Because in a couple of days, it will be crazy here at my day job
and stay like that until after the New Year.
Yep.
Seriously, I need to get my shit together.
:(

It's always like that ... so many things we want to do, so little real time (and energy and motivation) to do them. Forgive yourself and move on. Next year truly is another chance.

It hurts to see you waste your talent. But don't give up and don't be too hard on yourself. Spend some time on it when you get the chance. We're all looking forward to seeing what you make and buying some of it. As I've written in a couple of emails, I would be interested in some digital downloads.

ummm...
it's not like you've been BUSY or anything.
with a few doggy crises for good measure. the scare with beloved blue.
and a brand new rescue. nope. not busy at all.

it's coming together. step by step.
the shoppe had to come first. and you did it!
cleared out. made some much needed moolah.
cleaning the slate.
preparing the studio space.
like a little puzzle! the pieces are falling into place.
jig saw puzzles tend to drive me NUTS though. LOLOL.
and...
btw.
you get the most amazing expressions with only a few perfect little lines.
i feel the remorse of that kitty.
i just want to hold it and make it all better.
hallmark needs to know about you.
we need to figure out how that works! XOXOXO♥

Don't beat yourself up. You have a lot on your plate, and we all know 'life is what happens while you're making other plans'.

Keep calm and quietly goes on. I know that is difficult, haha.
But everything will be allright.

Thank you Connie.
So true.
It seems when I have a couple of minutes, all I want to do is sleep!
LOL!
But YES! Next year will be different!
Thanks again!

Jean,
I will do it, really.
Just got to get it together.
I think I need to write out a time table.
Like - #1. Go to bed earlier. LOL!
I noticed the emails.
I will definitely go back and read them all.
Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time.
I'll have to figure out how to do the digital stuff.
I'm sure it can't be too difficult but LOL! I'm so much better visually, than reading.
Thanks again!
I promise! I will get some stuff DONE!

Tammy,
Actually, and I just didn't mention this yet but I had a foster dog for 3 weeks but found her a home too! LOL!
But I've been saving that info for a post!
And some other stuff too.
Yes, the booth helped me to get rid of stuff but I still have many things.
Maybe a yard sale is in my future in the Spring! LOL!

I have been working on the art space here and just yesterday I decided not to have it set up next to the kitchen. Nope. I dragged the big table into the middle of the two rooms on the main floor. I'm TOTALLY getting rid of the living room, Everything will be my work space!
I'm jumping in with both feet.
2016 is just around the corner!

And thank you for the compliments on my sad kitty!
XOXOXOXO

Janneke,
Of course you are right.
I must stay calm and not let stress get to me or I won't get anything done!
Deep breaths!
More sleep and eating better will help.
AND starting earlier!
Thank you!

yep, you speak for all of us. I'm still working on getting xmas decorations up and this is the year, for sure, that I am painting my house to get rid of the yellowish brown color I cannot stand. After 5 years of saying that, this year for sure!

I'm excited about your new workspace. Could you take a picture or two? What a great reminder to your subconscious of your priorities.

Don't worry about the technical details of doing the digital stuff. I might be a good resource for you there, when you're ready and if you need it. The main thing is to draw those expressive animals that we all love so much. Don't even worry about coloring them if that's easier. That's why I suggested coloring pages --- some people at Etsy sell some. But they also sell colored digital images, too, and decorated inspirational quotes.

The main reason for trying digital is it's a lot less work than making books, and your time for your art is so limited. Just start doodling and see what happens. Easy steps for the joy of drawing.

Needless to say, we're all rooting for you!

Sharon!
LOL!
I haven't put up any Xmas decorations either.
Although I swore I would last weekend.
And I've had 4 strips of color painted on the kitchen wall for more than a year. But I WILL get it done, soon!
LOL!
Yes, 2016 is the year!
:)

Thanks Jean!
I really appreciate all the suggestions and encouragement!

Once I get things more organized, I will take some photos.
Right now, like you said, I'm going to concentrate on just getting some work done!
And when I get to that point, and I'm ready to do digital, it's good to know you can help me!
:) :) :)
Thanks again!

oh good grief charlie brown!!!
i didn't read your replies to comments here til after my trip...
so late to the game... but
i LOVE IT that your house IS your studio!!! just as it should be!!!
i can just picture it! i had a book once...
one of those coffee table books. it was 'artist's homes as studios' or something like that. FASCINATING! and beautiful!
who SAYS we have to live in the boring old conventional ways????
NOT ME!
XOXOXOXOXO♥

Tammy,
That is exactly what I was thinking!
I don't have people over.
My life is pretty much about my animals.
It's not like I have parties or anything.
My best friend hasn't been over to my house in a couple of years!
We just always meet for breakfast or whatever.
So I realized that I was letting myself be sucked into a fantasy life that's just in my head from all the beautiful blogs and Pinterest.
But it doesn't mean that it needs to be a hodge-podge of stuff.
It can still be visually pleasing to me.
Yep. I knew you would understand!
XOXOXOXO
