Truly, she has waited forever for them.
This is her old guy.
This is Winter, who I plan on blogging about someday.
He lost his front leg.
Horrible story that I won't share today but a Happy Ending
as he now is living with my friend.
All of her other pets are rescues too.
Another three legger.
Many times people comment on my blog and say very nice things to me about ME
and how my pets are rescued.
I feel uncomfortable as I am not the only one that has a house full of rescues.
I plan on sharing some of my friends stories.
I'm afraid that sometimes I complain too much about the negative people in my life
but I'm fortunate to know some awesome people too.
Other news,
I also finished up some work for another dear friend that I will share later.
I don't want it to be seen here and the surprise ruined.
I've been working outside a lot.
I've come to realize that it's therapy for me.
Slowly my yard and is becoming what I want it to be.
A refuge of sorts.
Or as I told a friend recently about finishing up my fence -
Step One in becoming a recluse has been completed!
LOL!
I received a gift the other day that I'm very happy about.
My step-mother contacted me to ask if I had a need for a patio table and 4 wicker chairs.
I did not.
It's very pretty, a woven wicker kind of set but I'm no longer collecting things I don't need.
But I do appreciate her asking me.
Then she asked if I'd be interested in some 16" paver stones?
Well - YEAH!
She said she and her husband would be glad to deliver them and
that they would give them to me at a good price - FREE!
So yesterday she and her husband dropped of 40, yes FORTY of these pavers!
They are nice thick stones, weighing 35lbs a piece.
They will fit into my plan perfectly.
On a complete different topic,
it's so nice how well she and I get along now.
I mean, we are really good friends!
I wonder what my Dad would think of this whole situation? LOL!
She's only 7 years older than me
so it was never a mom/daughter relationship.
There was a time I think we honestly hated each other!
But what 15 yr old is going to listen to a 22yr old?
What was my Dad thinking?
OK, NEVERMIND. I don't want to think about THAT. LOL!
But here's the odd part.
After Dad died, instead of us going our different ways
we became closer.
My sister and I even stood up with her when she remarried.
She found a really good guy and I am a highly critical person of men most times
but she found the nicest man.
He had been a farmer and now hauls freight for a living
I must say, She lucked out with him.
A good guy
and I'd be the last one to approve of anyone else but my Dad.
At Christmas time, we all get together on Christmas Eve.
My sister's family, me and my step-mom, her husband and his kids
and their kids.
Yep, a Modern Family.
OK, off to work in the yard!
Have a Wonderful Fourth!

I can see that life has been up and down since I came here earlier. Infections in the mouth can actually be deadly so I'm so glad You went to the dentist! Mouth bacteria are usually harmless in the mouth but if they would get in to the rest of the body they suddenly become really dangerous.
Have a great day!
Christer.
There are lots of people like us with a house full of rescue pets ... all cool people with great big hearts.
Your step mom sounds awesome.
Beautiful pieces of animal art Cindi, love those prints on fabric. You are lucky to have a happy relationship with your step-mother and family. So now the paver stone work can begin....
Greetings to all your furry friends!
Christer,
Yep, there's always something!
I'm glad I went too... One less thing to worry about!
I will be over to visit your new blog ASAP!
xo
Connie,
You are so right!
Your home has several, (and one I'd like to steal! LOL!)
That's why I get uncomfortable when people comment about me rescuing someone.
It's not about me, not my story but rather my pets story.
And there are so many people out there doing the same thing I do.
xoxoxo
Yep, I'm lucky that me and my step-mom became good friends!
:D
Thank you Janneke!
I like this linen look better than the other I was doing.
Yes, my family might be really small but I'm very fortunate to have them!
LOL! You are so right! Let the paver work begin!!!
xoxoxo
step one made me laugh right out loud!
it takes one to know one.
and yet...
like you. I have dear friends!
and
i'm so thrilled about your pavers!
can't wait to see what you do with them. hope you'll show us a peek of your garden someday. it sounds wonderful.
and I stand in awe of ALL people who rescue animals.
and...
I love your family!!! the modern family for sure!
(that's one of my favorite shows)
♥ hug the beloved blue for me.
and all the little furries!
It's wonderful that you are good friends with your step mom. Actually, it sounds like you're more than that. You're family.
My stepson was here this weekend and he always says he was so lucky all four of his 'parents' not only got along, but hung out. Personally, I see no reason for that NOT to happen. Life's too short.
As always, your work is inspiring and full of whimsy Cindi. Your friend must be thrilled!
(Love your new header)

Tammy,
Yep, takes one to know one!
I think I have the plan for the pavers all worked out in my head.
Finally everything is falling into place.
I'm very fortunate to know a lot of great people who rescue.
Both online and in person!
Yes, a Modern family! My Dad would be amazed. LOL!
I'll give those hugs to the critters! Thank you!
XOXOXOXO
Doreen,
Yes, you are right. She's family.
:D
It's nice to be a family even if it's not biological!
I'm glad you like my latest work.
I do think she was happy with it.
and I'm glad you like the new header!!!
Thank you for mentioning that.
XOXOXOXO
those pictures almost look like a quilt. lovely. enjoyed hearing about how your family has melded. wow. most unusual but I give you all kudoos for that! and lucky you for getting what you needed for free (an answer from the universe?) and for turning down what you didn't need. I still have trouble with that, so applaud you.
Thank you Sharon!
and yes, it's been a journey with my step-mom and me.
My Dad wouldn't believe it if he could see it.
But she needed help with things after he passed suddenly and we ended up having some deep conversations and almost fights about it.
Then her mom passed away and oddly, that brought us closer together too.
It's been a long journey but I'm glad we worked thins out!
It wasn't easy turning down stuff! LOL!
I was tempted but I really want to have a simpler life.
And yes, The Universe probably helped me again!
;)
xoxoxox
Yay!
it worked!

I always wonder about that when the 'blog administrator' has to remove a comment! LOLOL!
