but...Why?

Why can several people tell me that they like my hair, outfit, artwork or whatever
and it makes me happy, for a moment.
Then later, I wonder if they really meant it.
But if one person criticizes and even raises an eyebrow towards me
and I'm mortally wounded and dwell on it for days.
Last week I received 2 nice emails and also a Facebook comment about how much they each enjoyed my blog
and it made me feel happy and motivated.
And yet today when I noticed I lost a Follower,
I felt like someone slapped me.
Really?
Who?
Jeez, I have not even broken 100.
After all this time.
After years of blogging...
Sigh.
I need to regroup and think about stuff.
Bummer.

Shoot, You silly girl. Maybe that one lost follower quit blogland? or quit following everyone, or maybe there is a blip with your followers list.... unless they told you of course. In which case, their loss, not yours.
Hello dearest Cindi. I've missed you.

Well, what's the saying about where somebody shuts a door but somebody else opens a window...

I just added your blog to my email list!

Oh girl I don't know why people care so much about what others think. There is always going to be someone that doesn't like your blog or you or whatever it is but that's ok you can't please all. I like your blog and read it everyday and I even love the name of it.
Keep up the good work!!!! Lynn

You are as sensitive as I am! Intellectually we know it doesn't matter what other people think but emotionally I feel slayed when I get ignored. Did you lose a follower? But you gained me! I plan on sticking around.

If you'd link up to a few parties you'd get more readers. I notice when I lose a reader too but think...oh...they must have accidently quit reading..they'll be back. Don't take it personally. I have a very hard time reading a bunch of blogs these days.

Abi! I was just thinking about you. About how you weren't blogging anymore and how I missed you and then here you are!
Thank you so much for your kind words!

Nita, Yes, you are probably right. People are so busy.
I will try to link up to parties when I start working on my house and actually have something to share.
Thanks so much!
xoxo

For a while that REALLY bothered me but--okay, and I know this is insane--I kind of did an inventory of people so I could tell who left. I found whenever the number went down one, the next day it would be back. I could never find anyone that was missing. I don't think the number is always accurate. It's just computers after all.

i think followers are misleading blackcatboo!
I don't have any at all but stats that the captain set up said about 500 people a day were reading the peanut!
i say . . . who cares charlie brown! 100. 500. we do it because it's fun! well. it should be.

i'm guilty of reading here and not commenting. i will change that starting today. because i know you're a kindred spirit.
i see too many common things we think on leslie's blog when we comment there! LOL.
looking forward to the house saga!

Hello there my round the world friend! Happy New Year. : )

I lost ALL my blog feeds when I updated to a new operating system. I have found you again though so your numbers better have gone up by one!
I've got you coming in through NET NEWS WIRE loud and clear.

Will have to have a bit of a read to catch up on your too-ings and fro-ings. I hope it's going well!
