THIS MOM'S Day...

I told myself that this was just a day. Not to think about it
and then yesterday when I stopped at the garden center for some soil
and there were all these long lines...
I tried not to think about the fact that everyone was most likely, buying Mothers Day flowers.
When I got to the check-out, the cashier asked if I was a Mom and I hesitated. I mean I am, sort of but....
She hurried said, "Well, if you're not, Happy Mothers Day to your Mom. Everyone has a Mom."
That kinda stung and I wanted to say "Yeah, but she's dead!" but instead I just smiled at her and left.
It wasn't her fault. She was just trying to be happy, cheerful
and I was in a hyper-sensitive mood.
Anyway, there's a lot of things I miss about my Mom
but I suppose it's this FEELING that I miss the most.
and I was lucky to have a mom like that.
Some people do have or had a Mom that wasn't.
I think it's important to remember that even if someone didn't give birth to you,
if they make you feel like that kitten, then you are blessed to have them in your life.
XOXO

No mothers day here until last Sunday in this month. Has never been a big thing in my family, I'll call her though :-)

Have a great day!
Christer.

ohmygosh.
that little kitten being hugged is the sweetest thing.
i just want to go and live among the animals!
they have it down so much better than we humans ever will.
and yes.
sadly they must kill to survive.
but we kill for the joy of it.
i cannot even imagine that kind of mentality. joy in taking another's life.
you ARE a mother. anyone who rescues as many in need as you have is a mother with every maternal instinct that is noble.
your answer should always be immediately YES!

Tammy,

Thank you.

and yes, animals they do have it down.
It's such a pure and natural love.
None of the ugliness that the human race possesses.

Happy Mother's Day to you ... mom to your pack of critters and to all of the other ones that you nurture. Take a deep breath, let it out slowly, repeat as often as necessary.

Motherhood is especially noble when we choose to mother those who need us most. And sometimes that means our children are of the four-legged variety...the best kind imo. ;)

I'm stopping by from my friend Tammy's place Cynthia. Any friend of her's is a friend of mine, besides, if you take care of animals, that's pretty much all I need to know to figure out I want to get to know you better.

Your artwork is so creative and full of whimsy and bright, beautiful colors! Love your header too. My header shows 'me' (50 lbs thinner. Gotta love the Internet)pulling a wagon with a very, very small black dog in it. It's hard to see, but that's my granddog Charlie. He's in Singapore :(

Hope to see more of you, and keep on keepin' on and making a difference!

Doreen,
Thank you so so much for those kind words, both about being a Mom and about my Art.
I will have to stop by your blog and see you and that little black dog!
Thanks again!

I had to work. Mom and I celebrated the next day but I was too poor to do anything for her. But it was nice to just spend time together. One of the guys at work brought us girls each a hibiscus plant for Mother's Day. He said I'm a Mom to my dogs. That is true. It was super nice of him.

Nita,
Sorry that you had to work.
:(
But I'm glad that you got some time with your mom.
Time spent together is priceless and the best gift of all!
And yes, we are Mothers too.
XOXO
