ONE DOWN and a FEW to go....

Well, I finished ONE commissioned painting during my time off.

I did it in my illustrated collage style.
I used acrylics, papers and Inktense pencils.
My friend wanted it to be of her longhair Dachshund who is constantly digging holes.
I wrapped the cut paper around the sides so that there is no need for a frame.

Then I sealed it in a matte finish.
I hope she likes it! She will be getting it Thursday.

I've got a few other works in progress and I made a huge dent in my gardening chores so that gave me some satisfaction.

In other news, I'm back at work.
On the Plus side,  I'm doing all the flower containers for the clinic.
(Wahoo! Anything to be outside!)
On the Minus side is that 3 of the rescued abused dogs are now here at the clinic
and it hurts my heart to look at them.
But on the Plus, they are getting better and the fourth dog is already at a rescue!
So... Enough about that.
Sigh.

I'll bet your friend's Dachshund it a little stinker! I can tell from your portrait of him.

Be happy for the rescue dogs, instead of sad about their past. Their futures are bright, and that's what matters now.

Hopefully the pluses outweigh the minuses. I love the picture!

Connie,
Yes! Her little dog is forever digging holes! I was tempted to just have his little hind end sticking up out of the ground as her painting. LOL!
Yes, the future is bright for those dogs and now they actually have a future.
One of them has pressure wounds and bite marks and my niece Lily is particularly fond of him. Of course I'm drawn towards the older one and the third one is such a happy boy who lights up when he sees anyone walk to his run, He's sure to find a good home.
You are so right, I will just focus on the good.
Thanks for your comment!

Jean,
Yes, hopefully.
:)
I'm working on creating some pluses outside of work too!
I want to be a Free Range Human!
Glad you like the picture and I'm hoping she does.
Thank you!

i love heath! look at that smile.
you captured that little devil completely! LOLOL
and dear bean...
better that they be under YOUR loving care... than in a vet's place somewhere where they would simply be 'tolerated as a job'.
YOU will love them back to health.
and as hartwood roses said...
their future is now bright.
i'm just SO GLAD you had some time off at home. you needed that so much. and look what you accomplished!!!
love and hugs XOXO♥

Tammy,
Glad you like little Heath!
LOL!
I hope his owner does too!
Commissions are always scary for me because you never know what the owners have in their imagination.
And...
The dogs are at the vet's.
They are on the other side of the clinic and being cared for by the techs, not me. But Lily is over there, so all is well.
Everyone is horrified by what happened so I'm sure they are being cared for with the utmost care.
Soon two of them are going to another rescue and the third, the oldest, will be cared for by the breeder that works with us, who I mentioned before, until she can find the proper home.
Yes, I really needed that time off.
It helped clear my head a bit about a lot of things.
;)

Cynthia,

Wow. You're way more productive than I am when I take a few days off! I really love that picture of Heath. You make all animals look so adorable.

I'm glad those poor dogs ended up somewhere where they will get the help they need. Poor babies.

Thank you Grace! LOL!
I feel like I didn't get near enough done!
I wanted to finish more paintings
and I had a few other projects that I wanted to knock out but...
Oh well!
Yes, thankfully the dogs are now doing much better and now they are ALL going to be going to a rescue out of state, far away from here where they will be safe.
Thanks for commenting!
